Salmon River
As the book deadline was approaching I took a road trip to western New York to shoot Lake Ontario lights. I spend some time researching and the marina owner of the Salmon River Lighthouse was very helpful in getting this shot done. However, several local bright streetlights certainly worked against the effort. This is one of several lights in the collection that sits along a road and having the car lights streaking through the frame is important to the image. Since there was little that could have been done with the streetlights, making them a part of the shot was equally important. The camera's ability to capture stars despite the ambient and direct light never ceases to amaze me.
