I'd never before thought much about the Vineyard lights, other than seeing them on the ferry during an occasional island trip. On this night, the moon was new and the skies were clear to the point of seeing the Milky Way with the naked eye. The East Chop Light is a wonderfully peaceful spot and was a little weird for me because with almost all the lighthouses I've shot it's alway been in solitude. On this particular night there were several couples either laying on the ground watching the stars or romantically sitting on benches. It was a bit strange, but the stars performed their magic.
