Dutch Island Light and Lava
In late October 2014 we decided to revisit the lighthouse that started it all, Dutch Island. When I first shot at Dutch I wasn't quite sure where this would all lead. In the year that I've been doing Stars and Lights, I've learned an incredible amount about my limits and those of the camera. I've also learned to approach nighttime photography with with an open mind and careful planning and direction. In October 2013 when shooting I didn't spend enough time looking at Dutch Light from all angles. On this night a year later I knew then what needed to be done to complete the picture.
