Rose Island Bridge Portrait

Rose Island Bridge Portrait

I came close to losing the tripod into the water while shooting this photograph. I knew there was a shot somewhere on the south side of the island during low tide that would include the bridge, I just didn't know where that actual position was until I got there. I waded into the water until I was about chest deep, then placed my specially built water tripod into about four feet of water. Later, when reviewing the navigational charts, I learned that the spot was about 10-15 feet away from an 87-foot ledge that I couldn't see since it was underwater. I would have been safe since I float, the tripod doesn't.
