I paid a second nighttime visit to Beavertail on my way home from shooting a Massachusetts lighthouse. The park is closed after sunset but I'd gotten permission from the lighthouse society to shoot at night. There are tenants living in the lighthouse apartment and I wanted to be sure they knew I'd be shining my flashlight at the building while light-painting. Being interrupted by the police doesn't bode well for getting nighttime photography. When I'd shot here last year there was a very strong wind and I wasn't happy with the photographs though the stars then were stronger and different then this year, but the calm winds allowed for much sharper images.
