Green Ledge Reflection Portrait
Greens Ledge Lighthouse is located a couple of miles from the port of Norwalk on Long Island Sound. I learned a good lesson from this light--never go out on the boat alone. About a month before this shot was captured I had a hard time getting an assistant to help with the shoot, the conditions were great for shooting, so I decided to try it solo. I arrived at the lighthouse but the winds had picked up and I failed to land because the whaler was getting pounded against the ladder. Rather than risk getting hurt, I called it a night. About a month later I returned, this time with my brother Jack along to help. He dropped me off on the lighthouse ladder and I shot from the adjoining breakwater while he operated an LED light just offshore. I used a second LED light positioned on the rocks and found this nice reflection in the water at the end of the jetty.
