At this point in the Stars and Lights project I'd shot almost all of the Rhode Island lights and it was time to expand the gallery. In early January 2015 I did site surveys of the Connecticut land-based lights as far west as Old Saybrook. There are nearly a dozen lights to shoot between where I live in RI and the Connecticut River. During the January new moon I traveled to New London to shoot the Harbor Light. I had stopped by the property during the survey and secured permission from the adjacent home owner to walk on their property to access the tower and the lighthouse owners, the New London Maritime Society, were kind enough to turn on the tower lights for me on this particular night. It was a relatively warm winter evening with a light breeze, quite favorable conditions for a nice shot.
