Prior to shooting the Tongue Point Lighthouse I'd gotten permission from the corporate headquarters of PSEG in Newark, NJ. This unique little lighthouse sits on the grounds of a power plant in Bridgeport and is not very easily seen but for passengers passing by on the Port Jefferson ferry. I arrived before sunset to scope out the area and had made a request several weeks earlier to see if a string of streetlights might be turned off. Fortunately they were able to do so because had they been left on the amount of light would have made capturing stars impossible.
